Join the Kitchen Team at Kinyōbi
Position type: Chef Workplace: Kinyōbi
We’re looking for Chefs to join the team at Kinyōbi
Who are we?
Kinyōbi is a modern Japanese restaurant in the heart of Copenhagen, led by Will King-Smith. At Kinyōbi, we work with high-quality ingredients across a range of Japanese culinary styles from delicate sushi and sashimi to comforting izakaya dishes and crisp, golden tempura.
Our open kitchen plays a central role in shaping the atmosphere, giving guests a glimpse into the rhythm, quality, and care behind each dish. The bar brings energy and balance to the space, while the service ties it all together: thoughtful, attentive, and always grounded in genuine hospitality.
From the moment you enter, you’re gently transported away from the streets of Copenhagen and into a world of calm energy, soft lighting, and thoughtful detail, a setting designed to feel both elevated and deeply welcoming.
Who are we looking for to join the team?
We’re hiring chefs and we’re looking for individuals who bring passion, skill, and a mindset to grow. You’ll be part of a dedicated kitchen team working to bring a modern Japanese-inspired menu to life. Whether you’re guiding others or building your own craft, this is an opportunity to grow within a kitchen that values both creativity and talent.
For a senior role we expect you to have at least 2+ years of experience in a fast-paced, professional environment. For junior roles overall kitchen experience is required but most importantly a willingness to grow.
Experience with Japanese cuisine isn’t required but a strong interest in learning is. We believe in growing together as a team, and in our kitchen, a positive mindset matters just as much as experience. Teamwork is everything here but so is trust. We count on each other to manage our own stations with care, while staying connected and supportive through every part of service.
We’re setting out to build a respectful, collaborative, and energizing work environment, one where the kitchen, bar, and floor support each other and move as one team. That starts with the people we bring on: those who value professionalism, good communication, and a shared passion for the craft.
What do we offer?
You’ll also be part of Sovino Brands, a larger restaurant group with strong administrative support across HR, IT, legal, and finance. As a Sovino employee, you’ll gain access to excellent professional development opportunities, including internal leadership training and the possibility of pursuing a sommelier certification, helping you build your skills and grow within the industry.
You’ll work close to three other Sovino restaurants nearby, The Market Italian, Le Petit Rouge and PS Bar & Grill City, which offers great opportunities for collaboration and a strong social work environment.
We also offer a range of staff benefits, including:
