WE ARE LOOKING FOR A HEAD CHEF TO JOIN OUR TEAM
Øens have is the largest urban farm in northern europe, a seasonal restaurant and a place for memorable moments and events. Our vision is to celebrate vegetables and make ecosystems less alien, as well as to grow a local community around food and ecology.
AS A HEAD CHEF YOU WILL HAVE ACCESS TO FRESH CROPS JUST OUTSIDE THE KITCHEN, AND TOGETHER WITH OUR FARM MANAGER YOU WILL HELP PLAN THE SEASON.
The restaurant will open from mid April and run to the end of October from Thursday to Sunday. Simultaneously we host a lot of different events side by side with the restaurant. In November and December we also do Christmas dinners so the position as head chef will be from March 2024 until December 2024.
We prepare all hot food over our large outdoor grills and our 2 new wood fired ovens and we work primarily with vegetables and seafood. We only work with produce from small-scale, local, organic farmers and sustainable, locally caught seafood. Therefore you will be in charge of creating menus that reflect and change according to the season. The restaurant offers both an “a la carte” menu and a “chef’s choice”.
We are looking for a candidate that loves good organic products and seasonal cooking just as much as we do, and a person that can lead a dedicated team in a friendly, healthy work environment, with collaborative spirit.
Your working week will be an average of three and a half days a week, for a total of 40 hours. You will help plan out and set the right team to help you run the kitchen.
